Catrese Alston has recieved a proclamation from the City of Barnesville, GA in recognition of all of her philanthropy efforts helping various communities through out the city as well as other states.
The inaugural event will kick off with a Juneteenth Celebration Parade leading at Summers Field park in Barnesville, GA, located on the Gordon State University campus. At that point the “You Matter In The City” Community Impact and Family Day festivities will begin with a Car & Bike show. Selected cars and motorcycles will be awarded trophies for various categories.
Event attendees will also take part in multiple activities including prize giveaways, bouncy houses, competitions, face painting, arts & crafts, and more. There will be a number of different vendors, food trucks and other local businesses to shop with as well. If that’s not enough to get you excited, there will also be live entertainment and special guests in attendance to meet and greet the families in the community. The day portion of events is set to kick off starting at 11am, and ending by 4pm.
Then it’s time to switch gears and get cleaned up and ready to attend the Royal Blue Carpet Formal Gala. This is where some incredible individuals from Barnesville and other communities will be honored with their “You Matter In The City” awards. Food and beverages will be served, a Live DJ and other performers will entertain us, as well as three chosen fashion designers to spotlight their respective brands.
Proceeds from this event will go twords The C.O.M.P Foundation (Children Of Murdered Parents). The foundation, which Catrese started, is something she is extremely passionate
about because at the tender age of five her mother was murdered. Knowing from first hand experience all the hurdles and emotional trauma it caused, she has made it her mission to help as many children in that same situation overcome obstacles and be successful. Join us as we celebrate her special day, while doing one of the things she enjoys most…giving back!
